Karachi: Suspect in Mushaira firing case remanded
KARACHI: An under–detention accused Munir Khan who is alleged to have been involved in a firing incident outside the venue of Mushaira in Clifton, was produced before the Judicial Magistrate (South), Enayat Ullah. The police requested the court to allow them remand for another day for further investigations. The court allowed their plea.
Munir Khan was arrested from Shah Colony. It is alleged that he and some 11 other accused had planned to have opened fire outside the venue of an international ‘Mushaira’ held by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, at ‘Do–Talwar’, Clifton.
The case against the unidentified culprits was lodged at the Boating Basin police station. The organisers had stopped the ‘Mushaira’ where local and foreigner poets were reciting their verses.
