Lahore: Court orders case against cop
LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain on Thursday directed the CCPO, Lahore, to register a case against a Sabzazar police sub–inspector for keeping a person in illegal detention. According to the case, Bakhtawar Bibi and her husband Mudasar Hussain had approached Sabzazar police station on March 28 to record their statement under 161 Cr P C that they had contacted love marriage. However, Sub–Inspector (SI) Khalil Ahmed instead of recording statement of the girl handed her over to her mother and detained Mudassar Hussain in police station.
Later, a bailiff was deputed for the recovery of Mudassar Hussain as well as Bakhtawar. On Thursday, bailiff Tajamal Hussain submitted a report before the court that the bailiff found Mudassar Hussain in police station. When he asked the officials about Bakhtawar, the officials replied that she was also there. After a while Bakhtawar along with her parents appeared before the bailiff.
After examining the report of the bailiff, the court directed the CCPO to registered a case against the SI under relevant sections for showing negligence in the matter. statement: Additional District and Sessions Judge Javed–ul–Hassan Chishti on Thursday directed the police to record the statement of petitioner against TMO Iqbal Town Mian Mazher, TOR Muhammad Amin and Building Inspector Muhammad Yameen on the charge of detaining three persons illegally.
One Khalida Parveen had filed a habeas corpus petition to the said court for the recovery of three persons including Zaka Uddin, Rasheed and Tawakkal who had been confined to a factory sealed by TMO Iqabl Town. She further maintained that the TMO had illegally sealed her cosmetic factory located at Multan Road without issuing any notice. She alleged that the TMO had not only sealed the factory but also detained the above said persons. Upon this, the court had directed the SHO Nawan Kot to recover the alleged detainees and produce them before the court.
