RAWALPINDI: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested two passengers with 70 capsule filled with heroin in their abdomen while proceeding to Abu Dhabi on Sunday morning. Arroding to ANF, Two passengers identified as Imdad Hussain son of Muhammad Hayat and Abdul Waheed son of Fareed Ahmed, hailing from Sargodha, were held who were proceeding to Abu Dhabi from Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) by NL–551 at 7:30 a.m.
KARACHI: A team of Excise Police, Kot Deji, has recovered 1,200 kg of poppy. A statement issued here on Sunday said that a team headed by Ali Gul Wassan on a tip intercepted a truck No TJK–385 near Ubhan Naka near Khairpur and recovered 1,200 kg of poppy. It said that the Director General Excise and Taxation, Shuaib Ahmed Siddiqui, informed that during checking the Excise Police recovered 1,200 kg of poppy hidden in the various sections of the truck. He said that the driver namely Amir Bux Golo, a resident of Jafferabad, Balochistan, was also arrested on the spot by the Excise Police. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way, it was further stated.
PESHAWAR: The district police on Saturday arrested three alleged smugglers and recovered huge amount of drugs from their possession. Following a tip-off, police started strict surveillance at Karkhano check post and off boarded three passengers from a van identified as Wali Khan, Shehzad and Imran Shehzad and recovered 15 kilograms of hashish from them. The smugglers were taken into custody.
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested 25 lawbreakers including, one drunkard, four suspected dacoits and five men and women allegedly involved in immoral activities. According to a police spokesman, 1995 grams charas, 32 bottles of liquor, seven pistol 30 bor with 33 rounds, one kalashnikov with 10 rounds and Rs 1070 stake money was also recovered from from the arrested accused.
KHANEWAL: District Police Officer Muhammad Waqar Abbasi said on Saturday that police arrested six gangsters and recovered valuables. Speaking at a press conference, he said the police arrested one Musleen with his accomplices Ghulam Sarwar, Munawwar, Shahid, Fayyaz and Shahzad and recovered looted items and weapons from them.
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Police have arrested 12 outlaws and eight drunkards with 14 bottles of wine, pistols, guns and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said on Saturday. On a tip off, Ramna police arrested Nadeem Yousuf from sector G-11/12 and recovered ten wine bottles from his possession. Bhara Kau police arrested Raja Ashfaq from Kalma Chowk in possession of 30 bore pistol and five rounds. Bhara Kau police also arrested three persons identified as Hussain, Khizer Abbass, Sabir Hussain Shah and recovered a 30 bore pistol, one pistol,12 bore gun and 10 cartridges from their possession.
KARACHI: The son of a customs official was gunned down in the Boat Basin police limits, on Sunday. Asif Iqbal, son of Pervaz Iqbal, a customs official, was riding in his vehicle when he was shot dead by unidentified motorcycle riders near Meezan Bank in Shireen Jinnah Colony. The body of the 25–year–old was taken to the JPMC for legal formalities. The victim was a student and lived in Florida Homes situated in Defence Phase-V. Asif Iqbal hailed from Peshawar. Police said that Asif was killed over an old enmity. An FIR was registered against unknown people.
KARACHI: The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claimed to have solved two major cases of target killing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM’s) activist and three policemen in PIB Colony area by arresting a close associate of Ahmed Ali Magsi with arms. In another raid, the police arrested four suspects for their alleged involvement in more than 60 cases of target killing, including the murder attempt on Awami National Party (ANP) leader. Addressing a press conference on Friday, chief SIU (Karachi) SSP Khurram Waris said that police received information that wanted gangster Ahmed Ali Magsi along with his accomplices was present in Phase-I of Defence Housing Authority (DHA). Consequently, police raided the spot and an encounter ensued near Mughal Engineering in DHA Phase-I following which Mohammed Ibrahim alias Qari was arrested, while Ahmed Ali Magsi and his other accomplices managed to escape under the cover of fire and darkness. Police also recovered arms from the possession of the held suspect.
WAH CANTT: Police foiled a bid to smuggle heroin from Peshawar to Punjab and arrested a drug peddler on Saturday. Police said that during routine checking at GT Road one kilogram fine quality heroin was recovered from accused Javaid Khan. During initial investigation it was transpired that the man is part of an inter-provincial gang of drugs smugglers and was arrested travelling in Rawalpindi-bound passenger van coming from Peshawar. DSP said the cost of drug in local market in million of rupees. He said that police have registered the case against the accused under narcotics law and further investigation is underway.
ISLAMABAD: In a special crackdown against guesthouses involved in immoral activities and selling wine twelve outlaws and eight drunkards were arrested here on Saturday. The Shalimar police in a raid at ‘Travas Guesthouse’ in Sector F-10/3 nabbed eight drunkards. They were identified as Tariq s/o M. Ali, Taimoor Ali s/o Javed Khan, Umair Khan s/o Sarfaraz Khan, Abid Ali s/o Mushtaq Ali, Salman s/o Shaukat Ali, Rafi s/o Ahmed Zabih, Mohsin Ali s/o Zahid Hussain, Abdul Saboor s/o Abdul Ghafoor. Five others including two women were arrested for their alleged involvement in immoral activities during raid at `Blue Line’ Hotel in F-10 Markaz. The nabbed persons were identified Akram, Riaz, Mehtab Akhtar d/o Ghulam Haider, Adil Khan, Shaheen d/o Zulfiqar.
