Karachi: ANP man killed in Orangi
KARACHI: A young man said to be an activist of the Awami National Party was shot dead in an Orangi Town area in the early hours of Sunday, police said. They said that 30–year–old Amirullah Khan was targeted near the Badar traffic intersection by gunmen riding a motorcycle.
The victim was a resident of Frontier Colony and at the time of the incident he was returning from Saeedabad after attending a wedding party, the police quoted the family sources as saying. Following the incident, the body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for medico–legal formalities.
A spokesman for the Awami National Party claimed that Amirullah was their party activist. Following the killing, tension gripped Frontier Colony. The victim’s funeral prayers held in Frontier Colony in Orangi Town in the afternoon were attended by a large number of people, including local ANP leaders.
