Rawalpindi: 2 women killed in separate incidents
RAWALPINDI: In an honour killing episode, a young man gunned his newlywed sister down for contracting marriage on her own with a man she liked, police said on Sunday. The incident occurred at Chaklala Scheme–4 falling in the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station. A young man, Raja Tahir, stormed into the house of his sister who had recently contracted marriage on her own and started living with her husband.
According to police, he started firing at her when she was preparing breakfast in the kitchen and fled away. She succumbed to her injuries on way to the hospital. Meanwhile, a married woman was strangulated allegedly by her husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law in village Hayaal, the Saddar Bairuni police said. Police have registered a case under murder charges against her husband Asif, father-in-law Riasat and mother-in-law Farukh Bibi after medico–legal report.
