Increase in robberies in DG Khan
DERA GHAZI KHAN: Hundreds of people on Monday blocked Indus Highway at Shah Sadruddin against a sharp increase in robberies, demanding the transfer of the SHO and other officials. The protesters shouted slogans against the police. They said that thefts and dacoities had increased, causing a sense of insecurity among the masses. They blocked the road for several hours. As a result, a severe traffic jam was witnessed. The protesters alleged that the area had become no-go due to criminals.
They said that the police did not patrol during the night hours. They alleged that a couple of days ago, the police released the accused involved in two dacoities at mobile shops. Later, the police reached the spot. The protesters refused to open the inter-provincial highway and kept on protesting. However on the assurance of the local police officers, they opened the road.
