Islamabad: 2 gangs of robbers busted
ISLAMABAD: The Sabzi Mandi Police have busted two gangs of dacoits, who in the guise of transporters, used to ply vehicles on various routes illegally and loot passengers at gunpoint, the police spokesman said on Wednesday. Following complaints from passengers, a special police team under the supervision of DSP Ashraf Shah and SHO Sabzi Mandi Police Station Inspector Abid Ikram was constituted to trace the culprits.
The team busted two gangs who used to loot passengers at gunpoint. The criminals of first gang have been identified as Sardar Ali, Khaista Khan, Sajid, Gohar Ali, Tilawat Shah and Fiaz, while members of the other gang were identified as Kareemullah, Daud Shah, Niaz Ali, Nur Ali and Rehman Gul.
During preliminary investigation, the nabbed men have confessed to committing several such crimes. Police recovered weapons, looted items and a vehicle from them.
