Rawalpindi: Woman loses gold ornaments, cash after being ‘blackmailed’
RAWALPINDI: This is not an episode of a TV drama, but it happened in real life! A gang of young men blackmailed a married woman after gang–raping her and plundered 42 tolas of gold and cash of Rs550,000 as a deal that they would not expose her before her husband who was in Saudi Arabia to earn bread and butter for his family.
While, police suspected that she, taking advantage of her husband’s absence, kept illicit relations with young men, but they trapped her and started blackmailing her after getting objectionable pictures on their mobile phones. The incident occurred at the Dhoke Balli Dhakhli Rokhia falling in the jurisdiction of Gujar Khan Police Station.
Qamar Mehmood, son of Mohammad Akram, resident of Dhoke Balli Dhakhli Rokhia, lodged a complaint with the Gujar Khan Police, saying that he was living in Saudi Arabia for the last one year. According to him, in his absence, Wajid Fayyaz, son of Mohammad Fayyaz; and Hafiz, son of Mohammad Afzal, residents of Dah, along with an accomplice, kidnapped his wife ‘SB’ and kept raping her for one week. He said that they took her objectionable photographs on their mobile phones and started blackmailing her that they would expose her before her husband, if she failed to meet their demands.
The complainant said that they later began coming to her home frequently and raped her time and again, adding that they offered a deal for not providing her photographs to her husband. They demanded gold ornaments and cash she had with her, adding that she fulfilled their demand and gave them gold ornaments weighing 42 tolas, worth Rs2.5 million, with cash of Rs550,000, but they kept on blackmailing her, consequently she told the story to her husband.
Meanwhile, a man killed his wife over domestic dispute at Tahli Mori (Kahuta), the police spokesman said.
The Kahuta Police said that deceased Saqia Naureen was stepdaughter of the complainant, Zubair Akhtar, who told police that he went to her stepdaughter’s home along with his brother Rafaqat on her call. According to him, as he entered into her house, her husband Rashid Mehmood was beating her over a domestic issue. “Later, he took him into a room and gunned her down,” he added. Police have taken up the case and started investigation.
