Nowshera: Patwari sent on judicial remand
NOWSHERA: Judicial magistrate–cum–civil judge Mian Zahidullah sent a patwari (revenue official) on a 15–day judicial remand here on Thursday after he was allegedly caught taking bribe by anti–corruption police, Nowshera. Ofﬁcial sources said that patwari Javed Zeb was arrested when he was allegedly taking Rs25,000 in a land transfer case from one Haji Lal Zada. They claimed that Mr Zeb was demanding Rs60,000 in a case of land transfer in Behram Kalay on which the anti–corruption department made a raided party, including circle officer Zia Hassan and a local magistrate.
The sources said that the party recovered bribe money from the accused, who had just collected it from Mr Zada. The amount was already marked by the magistrate, who was also part of the raiding party.
The court allowed 15 days judicial remand of Mr Zeb to the anti–corruption police, who were expecting more disclosures during the investigation.
Meanwhile, an unknown person killed an intemally displaced person from Khyber Agency at Jalozai camp here on Thursday.
Police sources said that one Mohtnmad Farid, a resident of Landi Kotal, was killed by an unknown armed person who entered the lDPs camp at Jalozai. The cause of the killing is said to be an old enmity. Pabbi police station has registered the case.
