Old enmity claims youth’s life in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: A man was shot dead over old enmity in the city on Thursday morning. According to police, Chaudhry Zahoor and his accomplices opened fire on 22–year–old Wajid Khan, a resident of Chungi No 22, while he was on his way to open shop. The victim died instantly. The accused fled from the scene after committing the crime.
The body was shifted to the District Hospital at RA Bazaar for a postmortem where the doctors said that eight bullets hit the head and chest of the victim. Meanwhile, the family members and relatives of the deceased held a protest demonstration against the incident.
The protesters alleged that the murderers were influential people and had affiliations with a political party, therefore, police were avoiding taking action against them.
They demanded the Punjab chief minister and law enforcement agencies to arrest the culprits and award exemplary punishment to them. The police said that two groups had old enmity, saying armed men from the victim’s group had killed a member of the opponent group eight months ago.
