Gujranwala: Rape, murder of a girl
GUJRANWALA: A woman has accused SI Ashiq Hussain of the Kot Ladha police to force her to reach a compromise with the killer of her daughter. Sumaira Perveen, a resident of Naukhal village, told The News that her minor daughter was raped and killed by Muhammad Qasim and a case (415/2011) was registered by the police on December 23, 2011 only on the murder charge. She said that the investigation was assigned to SI Ashiq Hussain, but he forced her to reach a compromise with the killer.
She said that the SI had kept her in illegal confinement, alleging that she herself had killed her daughter. She said that the ASI had asked her that she was not her mother and demanded her DNA test for the purpose. She added that sniffer dogs had also detected the accused as the killer, but the SI refused to record the evidence of the sniffer dogs. The victim’s mother said that Qasim had confessed to the crime before the witnesses and begged for pardon. She said that the accused later started hurling threats to her. She appealed to the police high-ups take action against the SI and provide her security.
