Islamabad: 1,508 held, Rs124m recovered this year
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police arrested a total of 1,508 criminals this year besides recovering looted items worth Rs124.6 millions, huge cache of contraband and weapons from their possession, the police spokesman said. A total of 110 proclaimed offenders, 197 court absconders, 46 gamblers and 660 suspects were also arrested during this period.
The IGP Bani Amin Khan has said that commitment and devotion by the personnel of Islamabad Police despite several constraints made them successful against the criminal elements. Police officers and jawans have achieved great success during the ongoing year in countering criminal elements, drug pushers, robbers and criminal gangs too, he added.
Policing has become very much tough job in the present situation but one should appreciate those performing well as the ratio of the total traced cases and countering criminal elements is really appreciable.
SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik has appreciating the performance said that main reason behind this success is the strategy of community and vigilant policing. He vowed to continue these efforts for effective policing and make police department service-oriented in real manner.
