Rawalpindi: Journalist wounded, looted
RAWALPINDI: Veteran journalist and editor of an Urdu daily, Tariq Warsi, was pillaged and wounded on resistance by bike-riding gunmen in front of his house in Airport Housing Society when he came back home along with his family after attending a ceremony on Friday evening, police said.
Tariq Warsi, residing in house–65, street–4, sector 3 of the Airport Housing Society, lodged a complaint with the Airport Police Station saying that as he stopped his car in front of his house after he returned from a ceremony along with his family, two gunmen riding a bike, intercepted him and held him and his family members at gunpoint and asked to hand them over the cash and gold ornaments otherwise he would be killed.
During the filching, Tariq Warsi when resisted and grumbled the attitude, they broiled and wounded him by hitting his head with pistol and sped away with gold ornaments, cash and mobile phones, the police said. The police have not yet arrested the muggers wandering in streets to hunt people but claimed that they would get them soon.
