Karachi: 3 killed in different incidents in metropolis
KARACHI: Three people were killed in separate incidents in different parts of the metropolis on Wednesday. A mentally challenged man committed suicide at his house in Awami Colony, Orangi Town within the limits of Iqbal Market police station. Khalid, 25, resident of Millat Colony hanged himself to death with a rope at his bathroom. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico–legal formalities.
A police official said the heirs informed that the victim was mentally challenged and was the father of a child, adding that the victim was a plumber by his profession but now-a-days, he was not working due to his mentally problems. Later police handed over his body to the heirs.
In another incident, a passerby was killed in a road accident near Port Qasim within the limits of Bin Qasim police station. Khan Mohammad, 45, a resident of Eido Goth, Pipri; was going on his motorcycle when a speeding vehicle knocked him, resultantly he died on the spot.
Police have arrested responsible driver Kamran and shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico–legal formalities. Police said the victim was labourer by his profession. Later police handed over the body to his heirs.
Separately, a motorcyclist Hassan was killed in a road accident at Mawach Goth within the precincts of Mauripur police station.
Police said the victim was the resident of Old Golimar. He was going home from factory, when he reached at Hub River Road near Mawatch Goth, a speeding mini-bus knocked him and ran away, resultantly he died on the spot. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for medico–legal formalities and later handed over to his family.
