Lahore: 1,264 booked for illegal weapons
LAHORE: Lahore police have registered cases and arrested 1,264 accused during a campaign against illegal weapons in last three months. The police have recovered 11 Kalashinkovs, one stengun, 34 rifles, 75 guns, 1,068 pistols, 37 revolvers, two carbines, one mauser, 19 daggers, 98 magazines and thousands of bullets.
Capital City Police Officer Ahmad Raza Tahir has said the crackdown launched against illegal weapons to purge the city of crime and criminal elements should be further intensified. He said that comprehensive security would be ensured in the provincial metropolis with the active cooperation of citizens. He said concrete steps were being taken to make police corruption-free in the provincial metropolis.
