Islamabad: 1,000 wine bottles, 1.14kg of hashish seized from smugglers
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police arrested two narcotics and liquor smugglers and recovered 1,000 wine bottles and 1.140 kilogram of hashish from them, a spokesman for the police said. The Station House Officer of Shahzad Town Police Station, Sheikh Naeemuddin, ASI Muhammad Niaz, after receiving a tip-off, started special checking at the Lehtrar Road and arrested a bootlegger Aqeel Mahmood, son of Wilayat Husain, resident of Aliot Murree for having 1,000 wine bottles in a car (RLD–2591) he was driving.
The police obtained his five–day physical remand from the concerned court and further investigation was underway. Meanwhile, Sub–Inspector Allah Dad from the Tarnol Police arrested a drug pusher Wali Khan and recovered 1.140 kilogram of hashish from his possession.
