Karachi: Labourer shot dead during burglary
KARACHI: A labourer was shot dead by bandits in the Sohrab Goth police limits on Saturday evening. Mohammed Hassan, 40, was returning home from work when two armed motorcyclists held him hostage and started looting him. When Hassan resisted the dacoits opened fire. A patrolling inspector chased the fleeing suspects after witnessing the incident.
An encounter ensued, after which the police arrested one armed robber, Sarwer, while the other managed to escape. Hassan, who had received two bullet wounds, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. He used to work in a private company in New Karachi. Hassan hailed from Jacobabad, Sindh. He left behind a widow and three children.
