Lahore: Rapist doctor arrested
LAHORE: Nawankot Police on Friday arrested a doctor from the Lahore High Court premises when his bail in a rape case was canceled. Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik cancelled the pre–arrest bail of Dr Imtiaz Malik when SP Investigation Civil Lines Bilal told the court that rape with a dispenser Zubaida had been proved in the medical report. He requested the court to cancel the bail of Dr Imtiaz. Nawankot police had registered the case against Dr Imtiaz on the orders of Sessions Court for raping his dispenser Zubaida. Interestingly, the lady had to wander from pillar to post for about one year for registration of case against the doctor because police were not entrusting her. The accused doctor had also lodged a case against victim lady reportedly for pressurising her.
After reviewing the medical report and case record on Friday, Justice Malik canceled the bail of doctor, who was later arrested by the police.
Aysha Malik summoned: The Lahore High Court on Friday directed Aysha Ahad Malik, said to be wife of Hamza Shahbaz Sharif, to make sure her presence before the court on April 16 in connection with petition seeking implementation of sessions court orders directing to register case against 20 persons including police officers for torturing her along with her daughter.
She through her counsel Aftab Bajwa submitted that police officers and some others had on Oct 3, 2011 tried to arrest her and owing to scuffle with them she was disrobed. Later, they had forcibly taken her to the police station where she along with her daughter tortured which had also proved in the medical report, she added. The sessions court had ordered the police to register case against former IGP Rana Maqbool, Ali Imran Yousaf and 18 other including police officers namely Attique Dogar and Zulfqar Cheema, Aysha submitted adding that no case, however, had been registered in the light of sessions court orders.
She requested the LHC to issue directions to the police for compliance of sessions court directives.
