Karachi: Shopkeeper gunned down over enmity
KARACHI: A shopkeeper of Kareemabad cloth market was shot dead late Monday night. Qadeer Khan was called out of his shop by some unidentified people who later sprayed him with bullets. Following receipt of information, police reached the spot and shifted him to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where he was pronounced dead. The deceased received multiple bullet wounds on various parts of his body. He was residing in Gulbai, Shershah.
Quoting Qadeer’s elder brother Noor Mohammed, SHO Azizabad police station Haseebullah Qureshi said that the family had an enmity over some marriage issue and in this regard counter FIRs were lodged at the Gulberg police station.
On Monday night, two suspects came to Qadeer’s shop and asked him to come out as they had to discuss the issue running between the two families. Subsequently, Qadeer went along with the said people behind the market where they shot him dead and fled. Police were investigating the matter.
