Islamabad: 24 POs arrested
ISLAMABAD: The capital police arrested 24 proclaimed offenders (POs) and court absconders involved in heinous crimes in a fortnight during a crackdown, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. Earlier, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan had directed the police officials to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders (POs) and court absconders. Following the instructions, the capital police launched a crackdown and succeeded in apprehending the outlaws.
The City and Saddar Zones police arrested seven absconders each. The Industrial Area and Rural Zones nabbed two and five absconders, respectively. Similarly, Crime Investigation Agency also apprehended three absconders.
