Karachi: 3 killed in separate mishaps
KARACHI: Three people were killed in separate mishaps in different areas here on Tuesday. At least two persons were suffocated to death in Khayaban–e–Muhafiz the limits of Darakshan police station. According to police, two sanitary workers were suffocated while working at an underground sewerage line at DHA Phase–VI, Khayaban-e-Mohafiz. They were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctor pronounced their deaths.
The deceased were identified as Nadeem, 33, and Jamil, 40. Police said the victim Nadeem, who was the resident of Bara Board, Pak Colony, was the father of three while the deceased Jamil was living in Manzoor Colony. He was the father of four. Both of them were the workers of Cantonment Board. Later, the bodies were handed over to the heirs.
Separately, a man was crushed to death near Wireless Gate in Drigh Road Railway police precincts. The victim 50–year–old Abdul Rasheed was the resident of Green Town, Shah Faisal Colony. He was crossing the railway track near Wireless Gate when speeding Allama Iqbal Express crushed him. He died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities and later handed over to his family.
