Lahore: SHO among 78 cops booked
LAHORE: Following the orders of the Lahore High Court, the Sabzazar Police have registered two cases against 78 police officials including their Station House Officer (SHO) Hasnain Haider on charges of torturing the security guards and illegally entering into the house of a lawyer. Lawyer Khalid Mahmood alleged in the FIR that several policemen entered into his house wherein a marriage ceremony was in progress some days before.
The police officials were drunk when they entered his house and they beat up the security guards and others guests without giving any reasons, the complainant said. Later, he said that the a huge number of police officers including SHO Husnain Haider, Sub Inspectors Dilshad Hussain and Zulfqar reached the spot on the call of their drunk colleagues.
The policemen not only beat up the guests, guards and the complainant himself but also snatched the valuables including jewelry and cash from the participants of the marriage ceremony, the lawyer further alleged. Meanwhile, the sessions court directed the police to register cases against the cops but the bigwigs of police department were refusing to register any FIR against them.
However, on Monday the complaint approached the LHC and requested the court to order registration of case against cops. On that, the session court ordered the police to implement session court orders vis-à-vis registration of case against the alleged cops.
The police registered two FIRs against 78 cops including the SHO under section 155-C, 337-H2 and 506 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
On the other hand, police also registered two cases against lawyer Khalid Mahmood.
