Karachi: 13 shot dead violence
KARACHI: Wednesday was not a different day for the City as regards violence, as 13 people were killed and several injured in separate incidents. In Taimoria police remits, two people were killed while two more were found dead. Sanober, 25, and another Latif were gunned down when unidentified armed culprits opened indiscriminate fire on them when they were sitting at the teashop in Block M, North Nazimabad. Police officials said Sanober was the teashop owner. Police shifted Latif to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Sanober to Civil Hospital Karachi where both of them succumbed to injuries.
Also in North Nazimabad, the youth aged between 25 to 27 years, were found dead. Police officials said that the victims were killed after kidnapping and later their bodies were threw from the running car.
Police officials further said that the hands and legs of both the victims were tied with rope and they were strangled to death. Police said victim appeared to be Pashto speaking. Police shifted their bodies to morgue after autopsy at ASH.
It is to be noted here that North Nazimabad area was remained tense for the last 24 hours and around seven people were killed within 12 hours.
In Shershah locality, an elderly man identified as Khanzada, 61, shot dead over resistance within the jurisdiction of SITE B police station.
Police officials said that the unidentified armed culprits shot and killed him when he offered resistance in a robbing bid.
Separately, a 28–year–old Rehan, son of Mukhtiar was gunned down when unidentified persons riding a motorcycle opened fire at the sanitary shop within the limits of Liaquatabad police station.
DSP Wajahat Hussain said that two armed motorcyclists came and targeted him, adding that initially police revealed personal enmity behind the incident. But on the other hand, sources said that victim was killed by unidentified extortionist. The body was shifted to ASH and after completing the legal formalities handed over his family.
A donkey-cart vendor who was yet to be identified was gunned down near Ghas Mandi in Siddique Wahab Road in Garden Police precincts.
Police officials said that the victim was going somewhere after parking his cart when some motorcyclists opened fire and killed him.
In another incident, a body of a youth was found from Federal B Area in Azizabad Police precincts. He was identified as Amanullah Baloch, 27, and a resident of Chakiwara, Lyari. Police officials said that the victim was killed after kidnapping.
Meanwhile, two women were gunned down in separate firing incidents.
One Umm-e-Kulsoom, 51, was killed and her husband Shahid Rizvi, 55, was wounded when motorcyclist assailants sprayed bullets on their Suzuki Cultus car near Jheel Park in Ferozabad Police precincts on offering resistance.
Police officials said that the incident took place when the victims were on the way to their home in PECHS.
Another woman identified as 39–year–old Yasmin Khan, was gunned down near to her home in Al–Asif Square. Police officials said that the woman killed over family dispute. DSP Iftikhar Lodhi said the motive of murder is yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to ASH and later handed over her family.
Separately, a man namely Shahbaz was shot dead in Metroville area. Site police said victim hailed from Swat and personal enmity might be the motive behind the incident. The body was shifted to CHK for legal formalities.
Police official said he was the resident of same area where the incident took place.
Meanwhile, a man namely Muhammad Nadeem, 35, was shot dead near his house in 4-K Chowrangi in Surjani Police precincts. Police said they found a press card of a local newspaper from his possession but he was not a worker of any newspaper. The body was shifted to ASH.
Moreover, a boy, who was a waiter at New Quetta Abbasi Hotel, namely Rafi Ullah, 14, was shot dead while three others namely Hafeez, Niaz and Asif received bullet injuries. Police said two armed motorcyclists came and opened fire on a hotel at block 16, Gulistan–e-Jauhar. Police shifted the body and injured to JPMC for legal formalities. Police said victim was live in that hotel and police said it is link of Karachi violence and its third hotel in under attacked in last 24 hours.
Separately, Imam Bux, 22, was shot dead near Madina Mosque, Bakra Piri, Lyari. Kalakot police official said the victim was the resident of Chakiwara area and unidentified men targeted him near Madina Mosque. The body was shifted to CHK for legal formalities and later handed over to his family.
