Lahore: 2 including teen commit suicide
LAHORE: At least two persons including an unemployed youth committed suicide in three different incidents here in various parts of the City, police sources said on Wednesday. In the first incident, a jobless youth, identified as Shakeel Ahmad, committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills at his residence in Ahmad Town, the vicinity of Baghbanpura police. On the day of incident, police said, the youth confined himself in the room, and took poisonous pills. He was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The deceased’s family told the police that Shakeel was unemployed while they were facing sever financial constraints.
The youth got dejected and committed suicide. The police handed over the body to the deceased’s family without autopsy. In another incident, a teenage girl committed suicide by hanging herself with the ceiling fan at her house located in Shadbagh area. The deceased’s family told the police that Swera, a 7th class student at a local school, confined her in the bedroom, where she hanged herself with the ceiling fan with a piece of cloth tied to her neck. According to the family, the girl committed suicide after her mother severely admonished her over some domestic issue. The police handed over the body to the family without autopsy.
