Peshawar: Police recover huge cache of arms
PESHAWAR: Peshawar police foiled a smuggling bid and recovered a huge cache of weapons in Paharipora and Badhabera areas of Peshawar the other day. Police said that on a tip-off police flagged down a vehicle bearing registration number LHD–7918 and after searching its hidden cavities recovered 45 pistols and arrested two accused Saif–ur–Rahman, son of Shamas–ur–Rahman, and Taeeb Shah, son of Iqbal Shah. Police registered FIR and started investigation.
In another crackdown in Badhabera, police flagged down a vehicle on Inqilab Road, however the driver instead of stopping the vehicle sped up the pickup. Police opened firing, on which the smugglers escaped leaving the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, police recovered 13 Pistols, 7000 cartridges and 10-kg hashish. Police have taken the vehicle into their custody and started search operation for the arrest of criminals.
