Lahore: Stay order extended in Madhyana case
LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Thursday extended a stay order pertaining to stopping an anti–terrorism court (ATC) of Sargodha from passing final order in a case against former PPP MPA Aslam Madhyana, who is facing charges of torturing an elderly schoolteacher and fracturing his both legs. On Thursday, the petitioner’s counsel Azam Nazir Tarar completed his preliminary arguments. However, the respondent’s counsel sought time for preparation and court adjourned hearing till April 26 with direction to both counsel to come for final arguments.
The petitioner’s counsel contended that the occurrence was outcome of personal enmity whereas the medical board constituted on the request of complainant-teacher had confirmed that no bullet injuries were sustained by him. He said the injuries on his legs were caused by some blunt weapon.
