Mardan hotel incident accused held
MARDAN: The local police Friday claimed to have arrested one accused of killing four persons – a man, woman and two kids – at a hotel in Mardan. Station House Officer (SHO), City Police Station, Shah Mumtaz on Friday told The Nation that unidentified persons hanged a 35–year–old man and 28–year–old woman and killed a boy aging more than two years and a girl more than one year at room number 16 in the second storey of Shahlimar hotel. He further said that now a man Malak Juma Faqir, resident of Mamutai Kalkot, district Dir, told police that the deceased was his son Izat Faqir and the deceased woman was his daughter-in-law named Nazira, adding that the two-and-half-year old boy was their son Ibrahim and a one-and-half-year-old girl was their daughter named Bibi Fatima.
Malak Faqir said that the woman had first married to Iqbal, son of Nawaz Khan, and four years back she left her husband’s house and arranged a marriage with Izat Faqir and gave birth to a boy and a girl. He told police that accused Amir Sultan, Azam Khan, Shah Room, Hasham Khan and Iqbal allegedly hanged his son and his daughter-in-law and also killed their children on Thursday in the hotel. He further said that the accused few years ago also killed a brother of the deceased named Nisar. SHO said that Malak Faqir would record his statement in the local court. He further said that police arrested one accused identified as Hasham Khan and started raids to arrest the other accused.
