2 more killed in Quetta
QUETTA: Two people belonging to the Hazara community were gunned down in the city on Saturday, raising the death toll to 29 since March 29. Soon after the killings, officials of the Frontier Corps (FC) claimed to have apprehended two target killers and recovered weapons from their possession during a search in Brewery area. Police said that unidentified armed men attacked two people on the Brewery Road when the victims were on their way from Hazara Town to Quetta city. The attackers sprayed bullets from lethal automatic weapons on them, killing one and injuring other seriously.
The injured and the dead were shifted to the BMC Hospital. Later, the injured was shifted to the CMH, where he also breathed his last. The incident created tension in the provincial capital and a large number of people thronged the hospital. The people belonging to Hazara community protested against the killings and blocked the Brewery Road and burnt tyres.
An FC spokesman claimed that the FC personnel while checking arrested two alleged target killers and recovered weapons from their possession. Police officials also asserted that they had also rounded up nine suspects for investigation into the fresh target killings.
