Islamabad: 256 drug-pushers & bootleggers held in 3 months
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police nabbed 256 drug–pushers, liquor sellers and 215 criminals and recovered huge cache of contraband, liquor and weapons from their possession, the police spokesman said. A total of 215 persons were arrested during the first three months of the current year and 218 cases were registered against them. Police recovered 182 pistols, 13 guns, three carbines; three hand–grenades, nine rifles, six Kalashnikovs and 2,091 rounds from them.
Police arrested 256 drug–pushers and bootleggers during the same period and recovered 7.221 kilograms of heroin, 118 kilograms of hashish, 5.676 kilograms of opium and 2,749 bottles of wine from them. IGP Islamabad Bani–Amin Khan has said that the performance of the force is quite satisfactory against criminal elements.
