Lahore: Cops shoot colleague dead
LAHORE: Millat Park police have registered a murder case against two police constables for shooting their 50–year–old colleague to death here late on Friday night. Earlier, police investigators claimed that constables Hafiz Ansar and Shahzad Ahmad of Millat Park police station were chasing the bandits when they opened fire on the robbers. The robbers fled away but the constable, identified as Kamran, sustained as bullet in the head and died on the spot.
Kamran was standing near a fruit-vendor in the main bazaar where police encounter took place, according to the police. However, the family members of the deceased constable stated a strong protest demonstration against the police and alleged that the police constables deliberately shoot Kamran to death. The police have registered a murder case against the police constables, who are still at large. The police handed over the dead body to the deceased’s family after the autopsy.
