Rawalpindi: Khurram remanded for 10 more days
RAWALPINDI: Accountability Court-I Judge Muhammad Tariq Abbasi Monday granted the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) application while remanding further ten–day physical custody of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani’s former media coordinator Mian Khurram Rasool for his alleged involvement in the Rs38 million scrap reference. The court also remanded the physical custody of Shahid Mehmood, brother of Mian Khurram Rasool, and adjourned the case till May 5.
There were allegations that Mian Khurram Rasool collected 38 million rupees from different people for the purchase of sugar and scrap from the Trading Corporation of Pakistan. According to the NAB investigation, Khurram Rasool invested the amount in his Paramount Investment Company. He neither returned the money to the people nor gave them their shares.
