Jhang: Widow deprived of house through fake ownership deed
JHANG: A widow has appealed to the chief minister, the chief secretary, the BoR senior member and the Faisalabad commissioner and the district collector to take action against the patwari and the naib tehsildar who deprived her of her house through fake ownership deed. Alam Rani, in an application to Assistant Commissioner Sajjad Zafar Gondal, stated that she approached Chak Shulami Patwari Umar Hayat for registration of the mutation of her house, but he told her that the 10–marla land had already been transferred to another person under the mutation No 6462. The assistant commissioner summoned the patwari who examined the record and found that the mutation No 6462 had been registered on the basis of a fake deed.
The patwari tried to convince the AC for re-examining the mutations during the last five years to delay the matter of the widow who did not bribe the patwari. The assistant commissioner forwarded the matter to the district collector for immediate cancellation of the fake mutation No 6462 besides action against the patwari on January 26. However, the patwari with the connivance of the District Collector staff delayed the action for three months.
When contacted, Patwari Umar Hayat said that the mutation was made by his predecessor. When asked why he had cancelled the facts and held the file for three months, he remained silent. The reader of the district collector confirmed that the office had received the file in April and the case had been fixed for May 5.
