Karachi: 4 ‘target killers’ arrested in Korangi raid
KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) Sindh arrested four alleged target killers during a raid in the Korangi Industrial Area (KIA) police limits on Thursday. SSP Mohammed Fayyaz Khan of the CID said the raid was conducted after an informer tipped him off that the wanted target killers were present in the industrial area “An encounter began when the four gunmen opened fire on a police team to avoid arrest,” he said.
After the shootout, he said, the police arrested Kashif Ahmed alias Budha, Mohammed Farhan, Arshad Ali and Asghar Khan and recovered an MP-5 rifle, three TT pistols and two motorcycles from their possession. During the interrogation, the arrested men said they belonged to a political group and had been involved in criminal offences for the past 12 years.
They said that they had killed Nadeem Baig in the Khokhrapar area, who belonged to their rival group. They also admitted to have targeted Rana Mohammed Riaz in the same area, who was also a former Nazim of Landhi.
