Peshawar: PHC confirms bail to Russian woman in theft case
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday confirmed bail in a theft case to Kristina Petrochenkova, whose named was changed to Parveen after she converted to Islam and married a Pakistani man. The Russian woman had filed interim pre-arrest bail application in the PHC after her Pakistani husband Ikramullah Khan charged her in a theft case on March 10. A single bench of Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan confirmed the pre–arrest bail after hearing both the parties and a state lawyer in the case.
To a query about the Russian Embassy’s help for getting passport, Kristina Petrochenkova replied that she as per the court’s directives communicated with the embassy and they had sent her documents to Moscow to process it for provision of another passport.
