Kidney-sellers gang busted in Burewala
BUREWALA: Police Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang of kidney sellers and arrested its eight members, including two proclaimed offenders. Talking to journalists, Burewala DSP Mazhar Ahmad said the police on the special instructions of Vehari DPO Vehari Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi launched a drive against the most wanted criminals and arrested eight members of a kidney–sellers gang, including ringleader Nazir Ahmad alias Naziri. The other members are: Muhammad Ashfaq, Muhammad Riaz of Karampur, Muhammad Ashiq of Chak 20/WB, Muhammad Latif Jatt of Muslim Town, Vehari, Ghulam Shabbir of Bilal Colony.
The police recovered a car (LED–4751), two motorcycles, cattle and weapons from them. The DSP said Muhammad Ashfaq alias Shaqi and Nazir alias Naziri were involved in removing kidneys by administering intoxicants through injections and had sold the kidneys of 35 people. He added that the criminals used to hire cars on rent and after intoxicating the drivers took away to unknown place and removed their kidneys for their sale in tribal areas.
