Okara: 6 booked for Rs 2m swindle
OKARA: The Haveli Lakha police have registered a case against six people for robbing a man of Rs two million. Muhammad Zubair, a general store owner at Rakh Thakra village, was convinced by Iqbal, Arshad, Tahir, Shahid and Akram to buy a currency note printing machine for Rs 100,000. They tested the machine at an unknown location. Iqbal received Rs 750,000 from Iqbal to buy chemicals and paper for printing currency notes worth Rs 10 million.
The machine was installed in the house of Zubair and Iqbal started the work. After printing the currency notes worth Rs 50,000, the machine broke down. Iqbal telephoned someone in Lahore and asked him to repair the machine. The man demanded Rs three million for repairing the machine. Later, Iqbal and his accomplices forced Zubair to sell his house for Rs 1.4 million. After sometime, the accused called Zubair at Lahore’s Siddique Centre to make payment and receive the machine. Later, they took Zubair to Chungi Amar Siddhu where three policemen tried to arrest him, but he managed to escape.
