Karachi: Ex-army man shot dead
KARACHI: A former army man was shot dead and two others, including a police constable of the special branch, were wounded in Frontier Colony within the remit of the Pirabad police station on Thursday morning, police said. The incident took place when the three men going on two motorcycles reached Rabbani Mohalla in Frontier Colony, Qasba Colony, where unidentified men ambushed them, the police added.
Saiful Mulk, 40, died on the spot, while Ismail and Abdul Ghani were wounded, they said. After the incident the attackers managed to flee.
The police took the body and the wounded men to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment.
DSP Tariq Malik said that Saif was a resident of same area where the incident took place and hailed from Peshawar.
He was going along with his friends when the unidentified men targeted them, they said.
The police suspected personal enmity as a possible motive behind the incident and said that at the time of the incident the special branch police constable was in civil dress.
Later the police handed over the body to heirs. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
