Attock: Land dispute claims life
ATTOCK: A local leader of Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML–N) was killed on Saturday by his two rivals over a land dispute in Mirza village of the Saddar police station. The police said that PML-N leader Sher Afzal Khan was on way to a mosque to offer prayer on Saturday morning when he was allegedly attacked by his two rivals Mohammad Safdar and Mohammad Afzal, the real brothers, near Eidgah and escaped from the scene. As a result, Sher Afzal sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the district headquarters hospital.
After first aid, he was referred to a hospital in Rawalpindi due to his critical condition but he could not survive. Later, the body was handed over to the relatives by the police after postmortem. It has been revealed that the land dispute between the deceased and the accused persons was reconciled by some local notables about three weeks ago. Despite that, Sher Afzal Khan was killed by his rivals to settle their grudge. The police registered a case against the alleged killers and started further investigation.
