Karachi: ASI shot dead near home in Gulshan
KARACHI: A policeman was gunned down in yet another act of targeted killing within the remit of the Mobina Town police station, police said on Sunday. They said that Assistant Sub–Inspector Aslam Qadri, 45, was shot dead when he was sitting outside his home in Rajput Colony in Gulshan-e–Iqbal. They said that at least two armed men riding on a motorcycle came close to him and escaped after shooting him twice in the head and face.
The body was first taken to a private hospital where he was pronounced dead. Later, his body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico–legal formalities. He was father of six and posted at the Saudabad police headquarters. Previously, he had been posted to the investigation wings of the Mobina Town and Gulshan-e-Iqbal police stations.
Mobina Town SHO Saleemullah Qureshi said that the motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained as the family was busy in the funeral.
