Lakki police arrest 2 POs, 24 suspects
LAKKI MARWAT: Police cracked down on criminal gangs and arrested several proclaimed absconders and suspects during search operation in different parts of the district. “On the directives of Regional Police Officer Bannu Nisar Ahmad Tanoli, the district police force with the support of commandos of Elite Force and Anti–Terror Squad surrounded the hideouts of criminals in Abakhel, Sra Darga and Bargai villages at midnight,” said a police official on Sunday. He said that under the command of DPO Umar Riaz, the law enforcers backed by armoured personnel carrier vehicles destroyed the hideouts of anti–social elements and arrested two dreaded proclaimed offenders in Abakhel and Bargai villages. He said that the arrested criminals were wanted by police in murder cases.
“Besides the cops also captured 24 suspects and seized two klashankovs, a rifle, three pistols, a shotgun and a good number of bullets from anti state elements,” he maintained. He said that police also arrested a drug traffickers identified as Ikram in Abakhel village and seized one–kilogramme hashish from him. In Bargai village, the official said police impounded a pickup trucker loaded with huge quantity of poppy pods.
