Islamabad: 28 Pakistanis deported from Greece arrive home
ISLAMABAD: As many as 28 Pakistanis deported from Greece arrived at Islamabad airport through a private airline on Tuesday, SAMAA reports. All of the deportees were taken into custody by the immigration staff and recorded their statements after being shifted to Anti–Human Trafficking cell. Out of 28, only one person belongs to Khyber–Pakhtunkhwa while 27 others to Punjab province.
Greece and Turkey deport hundreds of Pakistani illegal immigrants annually. Many Pakistani young men seeking jobs in Greece and other European countries pay large sum of money, sometimes by borrowing and sometimes by selling assets of their families, to traffickers to help them travel abroad.
