Rawalpindi: Police net 33 outlaws
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police on Monday claimed to have arrested 33 lawbreakers including, two drunkard, 11 gamblers and three suspected dacoits. According to Police spokesman, police seized 375–grams charas, 25 bottles of liquor, three pistols 30–bore with 12 rounds, one dagger and one fake currency note worth Rs 5000 from the arrested accused. The spokesman further informed that acting on a tip-off Pirwadhai police conducted a raid at a gambling den in Fauji Colony and arrested 11 gamblers namely Riaz, Ghulam Muhammad, Amjad, Saleem, Muhammad Nabi, Abdul Hameed, Majid, Ansar, Jahangir and Zahid. Police also recovered Rs 10000 stake money with seven mobile phones and other items from their custody from them.
Meanwhile, Saddar Baroni police on information responded and managed to arrest three suspected dacoits namely Ahsan, Zaib and Asif, as they were planning to commit a dacoity. Police recovered three pistols 30-bore with 13 rounds. All the outlaws apprehended in different raids have been sent behind the bars, he said adding, separate cases have been registered against all the accused while further investigation is underway.
