Sargodha: 2 rustlers’ gangs busted
SARGODHA: The police busted two rustlers’ gangs and recovered 37 cattle heads, worth millions. On the direction of District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Rizwan, the police nabbed two notorious rustlers’ gangs involved in more than 30 incidents of cattle–lifting across the district. The police arrested nine members of both the gangs. The accused were identified as kingpin Afzal Gondal and his accomplices – Mazhar, Azhar and Zafar. The accused hailed from Mandi Bahauddin while Sher Gondal of Sargodha was wanted to the Saddr, Jhal Chakian and Urban Area police in various cases of cattle–lifting.
The members of the second gang were: ringleader Iqbal alias Bali of Ajnala and his associates – Nawaz of Rattokala Phullarwan, Sher and Meer of Yarewala Malakwal. During interrogation, the accused confessed to 18 incidents of cattle lifting and led the police to the hideout where stolen/snatched cattle were kept. The police registered cases against the accused and will return animals to owners.
