Ex-MNA ‘kidnapped’ in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: Former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pervez Masih was reportedly kidnapped here from the Cantonment area, a source told The News on Wednesday. A case has been registered at the West Cantonment Police Station following complaint by his family. The family said the former MNA elected on the ticket of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal in the 2002 general election has been missing for the last three days.
The family told the police that he left the University Town for Peshawar Cantonment but did not reach home. Wife of the missing lawmaker said that before approaching the police they waited for a couple of days hoping that Pervez Masih may return home. There were unconfirmed reports that he had been shifted to the tribal areas and the family had been approached for ransom.
