Sargodha: Owners get looted gold, cash back
SARGODHA: The Sargodha Police have distributed 404 tolas gold ornaments and Rs1.7 million recovered from a gang of robbers among the real owners at a ceremony held at Police Lines the other day. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Muhammad Pervaiz Bandial chaired the ceremony while a number of police officials, Anjuman-e-Tajran President Khawaja Ahmad Hanif, Sargodha District Bar Association President Shamas Naveed Cheema, representatives of Sarafa market and a large number of victims of robbers/dacoits attended the ceremony. The ceremony started with the recitation from holy Quran and concluded following the chief guest distributed jewellery and cash among the owners.
It is to be noted that on April 29, the police busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of three of its members including a lady robber and recovered 404 tolas gold in the shape of jewellery, Rs1.7 million, a Honda City car, illicit arms and other tools from the outlaws.
The arrested criminals were identified as Tanvir Abbas Awan, his brother Ali Raza Awan and sister Zainab Fatima, residents of Jaba District Khushab.
