Lahore: ‘Murdered’ wife returns to rescue husband
LAHORE: In what appeared to be a shocking occurrence, a woman on Monday appeared before the Lahore High Court (LHC), five years after her husband was handed down life sentence in her murder case. Shazia, a resident of Sangla Hill tehsil in Nankana Sahib district, went missing in 2006, after which her father had filed a case against her husband Nazeer, said media reports. Shazia told the LHC that her husband, Nazir, was booked in a bogus case filed by her father after she had disappeared. She submitted that unidentified persons had abducted her after she developed some differences with her husband.
The reports said she was able to escape her captors after being in detention for a few years. Shazia requested the court to release her husband who was completely innocent. Nazir had been languishing in jail for five years in the murder case of his wife.
