Lahore: Robbers on the rampage in City
LAHORE: Robbers continued their looting spree here in the provincial metropolis on Wednesday and made off with cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth millions of rupees besides three cars and two motorcycles from different parts of the City, police sources said. Five gunmen intercepted a jeweller in Shahdara police vicinity, held him up at gunpoint, and fled away after snatching three–kg gold items from his possession. The police are investigating. Four robbers equipped with automatic weapons barged into a house situated in Shadman police area and snatched away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 500,000 after holding the inmates hostage at gunpoint.
Gunmen stormed into three adjacent shops situated in Ichar police vicinity and escaped after collecting cash and valuables worth millions of rupees. Two gunmen held up a car-rider Shadbagh police area and deprived him of Rs 100,000 and a mobile phone.
Two motorcyclist held up Imran at gunpoint in Naseerabad police area and deprived him of his mobile phone and purse, containing Rs 3,000.
Three robbers snatched away a motorcycle from one Zeeshan in the jurisdiction of Shadbagh police area while another motorcycle was stolen away from Faisal Town police precincts. Thieves also drove away an ambulance from Shadman police area while a car was stolen away from Garden Town police vicinity.
