Kasur court shooting kills man
KASUR: Rivals killed a man in police custody and injured another at a local court on Thursday. The shootout took place in the B-Division police limits. The incident drew ire among lawyers and clerks who took to the streets against, what they called, poor security around the court. The clerks staged a demonstration and blocked the road. They burnt tyres and chanted slogans against police. The lawyers boycotted the court proceedings. Muhammad Asif was taken to the court when he came under attack by Zahoor Ahmed and his accomplice Haneef.
The injured was identified Abdul Shakoor. Reportedly, enraged lawyers tortured a Rescue man while he was performing his duties at the site. Police arrested the accused minutes after the incident and launched an investigation.
Separately, money dispute claimed a life at Faqeeriawala in Saddar police limits. Jamil Ahmed was on his way from Basti Vaneeka when three gunmen Shabir, Baniamin and Soni Alam killed him.
