19 outlaws arrested by Islamabad Police
ISLAMABAD: The Sabzi Mandi Police have arrested 19 persons for their alleged involvement in crimes of heinous nature, including blind murder, car theft, and recovered stolen vehicles, gold ornaments and other valuables worth millions of rupees from their possession during the last fortnight, the police spokesman said here on Sunday. SP (Industrial Area) Ishaq Warraich constituted teams led by Sabzi Mandi Police Station SHO Chaudhry Asjad Mehmud to smash gangs involved in murders, fraud and burglaries.
A police team arrested a fraudster, Ishaq, son of Jamal, resident of Toba Tek Singh, who sold fake gold coins worth Rs1 million to Sher Khan by showing him original gold coins in the beginning and later changing them with fake coins.
Another police team under special supervision of SHO Asjad Mehmud nabbed Shehzad Khan who shot dead a truck driver, Nazeerullah, at IJ Principal Road along with his accomplices after snatching cash from him. Efforts were under way to arrest his two accomplices.
Two gangs of burglars were also busted and prize bonds worth Rs2.2 million, electronic gadgets and jewellery were recovered from them. The gang members were identified as Shahid Mehmud, Farhad Ayub, Wakeel Khan, Qahar Kabeer, Shazia Kishwar and Rasheeda Bibi, who confessed to their involvement in 18 burglaries in various localities.
Meanwhile, ten men identified as Waseem Khan, Junaid, Farooq, Ifran Rasool, Zahid Khan, Luqman, Yasir Mehmud, Gulnali, Adeel and Yusuf were arrested during patrolling in various areas. Seven 30–bore pistols, one 32–bore pistol, one 12–bore gun and one 22–bore gun were recovered from them.
Three vehicles (Suzuki Khyber LXN–6484, Shehzore HA–154 and a Suzuki Alto) were also recovered during last fortnight by the Sabzi Mandi Police, while a car thief Islam Nabi was also arrested.
