Islamabad: Inter-provincial gang of dacoits busted
ISLAMABAD: Bhara Kahu Police have busted an inter-provincial gang of dacoits, arresting six of its members, and recovering snatched cash worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, six mobile phones, looted items, and weapons including two hand grenades and fuses from their possession, a police spokesman said. A special team under the supervision of SP (City) Muhammad Ilyas including SHO Bhara Kahu Police Station Inspector Nazir Ahmed and ASI Ameer Sajad was constituted. The team started regular monitoring of those persons who had remained jailbirds due to their involvement in various dacoities and succeeded to arrest the criminals.
The nabbed six members of the gang were identified as Nusrat Bilal, son of Naseer, resident of Pind Baigwal, Islamabad; Khuram Shehzad, Nasir, Asad, Adnan and Tufail.
Police also recovered snatched cash worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, six mobile phones, looted items, and weapons including two hand grenades, fuses, two pistols, and one 12–bore gun from their possession.
This gang used to block roads in the various areas and then snatch cash, mobile phones and valuables from the road users as well as passengers. During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to committing 10 dacoities in areas of Bhara Kahu, Koral, Nilore, Shehzad Town and Murree police stations.
